Adam J. Kinowski was born in 1977 and raised in upstate New York. Studying Taekwondo for 17 years, Adam began his martial arts training at the age of 13 at Pai's Tae Kwon Do Academy in Clinton Park, NY. While studying under Master Kwang Pai, he had the opportunity to travel to Korea to study at the Kukkiwon, The World Taekwondo Headquarters in Souel, Korea. When he was 18 years old, Adam began working as an instructor at Pai's Tae Kwon Do Academy while attending The College of St. Rose, a private catholic college, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Adam moved to Southern California in 2000, and since then, has been teaching elementary school at Carden Hall in Newport Beach. The AJK's Taekwondo program began in 2001 as a small summer camp. It was not until 2002 that Adam began to offer his program after school at Carden Hall. Today, AJK's Martial Arts and Fitness Center, Inc. supports The USA Taekwondo, an organization where the Olympic journey begins, and has produced fine athletes that have competed and medaled at the State, National, and Jr. Olympic levels. Adam's school has grown to encompass Black Belt development & ongoing programs, such as, weapons training, Olympic style sparring, an adult Taekwondo program, and a competitive Tournament Team. AJK's Instructors are qualified and motivated to support the development of fine athletes. Adam's motto in instructing is “Quality over quantity.”

Adam is a practicing 3rd Degree Black Belt, and holds a Level 1 Coach's certification under the USA Taekwondo. He is committed to continuing his training so that he can provide the best possible training for his students. He also works very hard to weave anecdotes, quotes, and ideas that will help children to build strong character and values.

Sandra Wight was born 1965 in Columbus, MI. Since her dad was a captain in the Air Force she, along with her three sisters, had the opportunity to travel extensively as a youngster; living in Japan, Thailand and the Philippines. She had always wanted to study the martial arts, but it was not something that girls did back then and so she took ballet and tap instead. It wasn't until her son expressed an interest in Taekwondo that she started to train.

In 1999 Sandra received her Taekwondo black belt, in 2001 she received her 2nd Dan, and in 2006 her 3rd Dan. She is a certified martial arts instructor through the ACMA (American Council of Martial Arts) and has been teaching TKD since 1996. She took a brief hiatus from TKD in 2001 to earn a black belt in Kempo Karate, and then came back to TKD. Sandra recently received her Level I Coach's certification.

Sandra has also been a certified kick boxing instructor for over 10 years and is currently teaching kickboxing at HaeDong Martial Arts Center.

On Saturday, September 12th, 2009 Adam Kinowski and Sandra Wight tested for their 4th, Master Degree Black Belts at The Huntington Beach Black Belt Center in Huntington Beach, CA. Master Carlos Leal, who hosted the two and half hour examination, administered various strikes, blocks, kicks, one-step sparring, forms, board breaks, brick breaks, and encouraging wisdom for Kinowski and Wight. Master Sang Choi and Jeff Chung, who were invited Master Instructors from a local black belt school in Los Angeles, observed, tested, and commented on the recommended Master's overall performance. Both Master Sandra and Master Kinowski successfully passed their 4th Degree test. The event had been video taped and will be added to AJK's continuing picture/video memories dvd, which was first shown at the 2007 Parent's Appreciation Luau. Master Sandra and Master Kinowski would like to thank their TKD parents and students for their respect and support over the years. It is because of their continuing dedication to the art and sport of Taekwondo that these two Master Instructors continue their Black Belt Excellence.
